The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has published the tender for the planning and execution of geological research for the purpose of defining hydrological and geothermal resources (ground waters and petrogeothermal resources), as well as renewable energy sources for the use in heating, cooling and air-conditioning systems, the preparation of sanitary hot water and the water supply of the new concert hall of the Belgrade Philharmonic.

Let us remind that the plan is for the new concert hall to be built in New Belgrade, next to the Palace of Serbia.

The area of the geological research, as said, encompasses the parcel 6906 KO Novi Beograd, on the right bank of the Danube. The area of the research location is 162,785 m2.

It is added that the location is situated next to the Palace of Serbia location, for which the geological research of ground waters for various purposes has already been done and that the location has considerable potential for the use of ground waters.

The research of the ground water resources will entail, among other things, the construction of an exploratory borehole and an exploitation well around 40 meters deep, as well as test pumping.

For the purpose of researching petrogeothermal resources, two exploratory wells 100 meters deep will be built and geothermal probes will be put into them.

The tendering documentation says that the Government of Serbia had reached the decision to launch the development and construction of a new concert hall facility in Belgrade, with a main hall with up to 1,600 seats and a rehearsal hall with up to 400 seats.

It is reminded that the winner at the international contest for the architectural design of the hall was Amanda Levete Architects (AL_A) from London.

Last summer, when presenting the preliminary design, the prime minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic announced that the construction of the new concert hall would begin in 2023, on the 100th anniversary of the Belgrade Philharmonic.

The tender is open until May 18, more details HERE.
