Electrical Energy in Serbia More Expensive by 8%, Gas by 10%, from May 1

From May 1, electrical energy in Serbia is 8% more expensive for the citizens, small purchasers and the economy, and gas is 10% more expensive.

The average price of electrical energy for the purchasers which have the right to guaranteed supply at regulated prices (households and small purchasers) will amount to RSD 9.50 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), without taxes and fees, that is, RSD 13.31 per kWh with taxes and fees, and is 8% higher compared to the previous average price, according to the decision of the Council of the Energy Agency (AERS).

The Agency said that, even following the adjustment of the prices of electrical energy for guaranteed supply in Serbia, without taxes and fees, would still be one of the lowest ones in Europe.

The AERS Council also approved the decisions of the management organs of 31 public gas suppliers for that energy source to become more expensive, so the average price will be 10% higher.

Gas will thereby cost RSD 4.13 per kWh without taxes and fees, that is, RSD 4.55 per kWh with taxes and fees.

The Agency said that, even following the adjustment of the prices of natural gas for public supply in Serbia would be, without taxes and fees, one of the lowest ones in Europe.

The price of electrical energy for the economy, according to the recommendation of the Government of Serbia, has increased from EUR 102.6 per megawatt to EUR 110.81 per megawatt, that is, by around 8%.
