(Employees of Gebrüder Weiss in Slovenia) The idea of this year's sports competition is also environmental protection: for every 40 kilometers traveled, Gebrüder Weiss will donate a tree that will be planted in Nicaragua. This Central American country is seriously affected by climate change, and the trees that will be planted there are intended to protect against floods. The partner in the project is PRIMAKLIMA, a non-profit organization that has been involved in reforestation projects for over 30 years.

A gravel bike will be awarded to one of the top 250 cyclists. Prizes will also be awarded for crossing individual sections ranging from 60 to 6,000 kilometers.
(Last year's reforestation project in Togo (West Africa): 5,000 saplings were planted. The protection zone will eventually grow into a forest and create jobs) Gebrüder Weiss' first cycling campaign was completed in September 2022 with a total distance of 249,392 kilometers crossed. At that time, the participants repeatedly exceeded the original goal of "just" one circle around the world (40,075 kilometers) and, with this mileage, they contributed to the planting of 5,000 trees in Togo, Africa.
