The Government of Vojvodina has reached an agreement with the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS), by which the oil company will invest over RSD 82 million in six cities and municipalities in Vojvodina where the plants of NIS are situated.

- NIS will invest these funds in education, health care, culture, economy, sports - in all the priority goals defined by local self-governments, that is, it will invest in the resolution of certain problems experienced by the people who live in these areas. In this way, NIS shows the level of social responsibility rarely shown by any foreign company - Vojvodina Prime Minister Dr. Bojan Pajtic said after signing the Agreement on social and economic collaboration with NIS Director General Dr. Kiril Kravchenko.

The Petroleum Industry of Serbia and the Government of Vojvodina yesterday signed, for the third year in a row, an agreement aimed at enabling a long-term cooperation based on the creation of organizational, economic and legal conditions for the work and development of the company, as well as for the development of local communities in Vojvodina. In addition to this base agreement, NIS also signed supplemental agreements in the premises of the Vojvodina government with six local self-governments in Vojvodina: Novi Sad, Kikinda, Zrenjanin, Pancevo, Kanjiza, and Novi Becej.

- The Petroleum Industry of Serbia achieved good results last year, which is a proof that we are on a good path. We have increased the amount of taxes we pay to the budget, investments and the level of our social responsibility. NIS maintains an excellent cooperation with the Vojvodina government, which gets better every year and represents a good example of cooperation between a government body and a business organization - said NIS Director General Dr. Kiril Kravchenko.
