Budva's Villages – Pearls of the Adriatic Coast

It is hard to find a smaller area with such a big number of cultural monuments, mostly monasteries and churches which date back to 11th century, even though traces of people living on the Budva Riviera from the time of ancient Greeks, Enheleians, Illyrians and Romans were discovered here. One of the most famous walking tours is a tour through Pastrovici which gives a glimpse into some of the sights of Budva`s hinterland, the period outside the main tourist season being ideal for such a walk.

From Vojnici monastery, built in the 15th century the walk goes to the Kuljace village and the Duljevo monastery, built during the time of the emperor Dusan on a very picturesque plateau. Bit further ahead there is a unique female monastery Rustovo built on a highland above Sveti Stefan from where a view stretches out to the vast open sea. The walk further takes you to Celovo village and then along the famous Jegor`s Path all the way to the centuries-old Praskvica monastery. All these places have a welcoming and warm atmosphere, lovely hosts and peace we are all searching for.

Budva Trails

The Tourist Organization of the Municipality of Budva has begun the project of recording GPS trails and developing a mobile app for trails which was finished at the start of 2023.

The first phase of the project entailed a certified professional going along the trails and creating their electronic GPS record and also preparing a study on signalization. After the completion of this phase, there was an increase in number and length of marked trails which improved the offer in the Budva Riviera hinterland as well and the overall quality of the offer of recreational tourism.

These GPS records were used for developing a mobile app for hiking trails with the total length of 82 km named "Budva Trails" which is free to download from the App and Play Store, can also be used offline and has support for Russian and English language.

In this way, lovers of nature and active holidays can get to know Budva hinterlands faster and easier and visit this underexplored area of the Budva municipality. Additional developments of this type of tourism as well as landscaping and signalization of the added trails in the Budva hinterland are planned for the next

period.
