UNIQA Recording Significant Growth in SEE Region

UNIQA realized excellent business results and a significant growth in UNIQA Group in the SEE region (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria and Croatia) in 2022: according to the preliminary data, the gross invoiced premium grew 10.4%, the EBT is EUR 10.2 million*, and the planned technical profitability, despite the unfavorable market conditions, such as the inflation that has caused an increase in the prices of products and services, was exceeded by 37%. The total gross invoiced premium reached an amount of EUR 269.2 million. At the same time, in the SEE region, UNIQA also increased the number of clients to two million.

In March 2022, UNIQA commenced a transformation in the SEE region in order to strengthen its position in the market with the aim of being among the first three international players and providing insurance solutions and services of the highest quality to its clients and partners. The SEE region is the third group of companies by size in UNIQA Group, with around 1,700 employees.

Since the beginning of the transformation, numerous initiatives have been launched for the reaching of the full potential in the region, from simplifying the products to placing a strong emphasis on the use and analysis of data with a strong focus on digitization and innovations so that the business processes would be accelerated and simplified. On the regional level, UNIQA develops unique solutions for small and medium entrepreneurs, as well as large regional companies, creating special offers for their needs.

In the SEE region, UNIQA recorded the biggest growth in voluntary health insurance – over 36% and property insurance – over 24%.

UNIQA Serbia also realized excellent business results. According to the preliminary data, in 2022, it realized a growth of 10.3%, exceeding the growth of the market.

– We realized a premium of EUR 55.1 million. At the same time, the realized profit before taxation is EUR 1 million. We thereby set an excellent basis for our further growth – pointed out the president of the Executive Board of UNIQA nezivotno osiguranje (UNIQA Non-Life Insurance), Nikola Djukic.
