Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic said Tuesday that an agreement on the government’s reshuffle had been reached.
which would have fewer than 20 ministries and more than 20 members, it was announced on the government's website.
Cvetkovic, who is attending the Kopaonik Business Forum 2011, announced that the details of the changes in the government would be announced later the same week. He added that he had talked with all coalition partners and that they had reached an agreement.
The reshuffle is not just about personal changes, but also about the structural changes within the government, he noted, adding that there is no government crisis.
Cvetkovic said that the preparation of amendments to the Law on Ministries would follow, after which he would propose new members of the government, including nominees for posts vacated by the resignations of G17 Plus ministers.
G17 Plus leader Mladjan Dinkic confirmed on Tuesday that an agreement on the government's reshuffle had been reached and announced that that party would have five departments instead of current six.
- The Ministry for the National Investment Plan (NIP) will be merged with the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development - Dinkic said on Kopaonik.
Dinkic did not want to reveal the names of the new ministers from G17 Plus in the government out of respect for his coalition partners.
The current government comprises 24 ministries run by ministers, two ministers without portfolio and the Prime Minister.
