This bill is harmonized with the European Electronic Communications Code, that is, the passing of this bill entails an improvement of the business environment in the Republic of Serbia, encourages investments, further development, and additionally upgrades the protection of end-users – the citizens.
Some of the novelties introduced by this law are the mandatory introduction of bills for services in electronic form, enabling conditions for operators to more fairly and efficiently share the existing infrastructure, all with the aim of providing even better and more diverse services. All of this will affect the increase in the availability of the internet, landline and mobile telephony services, as well as television in towns and villages.
The bill also envisages the obligation to register prepaid mobile phone users, which will increase the safety of citizens. The citizens will be able to register online as well, in a most simple way, thereby avoiding having to wait in queues.
The government will forward the Draft Bill to the National Assembly to adopt as soon as possible.
