Anonymous Movement Threatens, State Responds: All Public Administration Data and Confidential Government Documents Protected

The Ministry of Information and Telecommunications of Serbia has notified the citizens, regarding the frequent social media announcements of threats against the information security and the Government’s confidential documents being compromised and various state websites being hacked, that the data of the public administration are protected and that no confidential document has been discovered.

– All the data of importance for the Republic of Serbia are stored in state data centers in Belgrade and Kragujevac at the highest technical and security standards. Also, the expert services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Security Intelligence Agency, the Office for Information Technologies and Electronic Government, as well as the Serbian Armed Forces, are working in coordination and following all activities – the ministry says on its website.

They add that the alarming announcements that are appearing on social networks aim to frighten the citizens and that they are an element of a special war waged against Serbia.

– The ministry invites all employees in the public administration to continue adhering to the measures of information security and all the security recommendation for handling unchecked and suspicious emails and websites – they say.

Let us remind that the international hacker group Anonymous has announced on Twitter that they have hacked dozens of confidential documents from the Government of Serbia.
