Online trade in Serbia is constantly growing and that’s a global trend. Experts predict that, in the next few years as well, the growth of online retail and e commerce in general will continue. In the first nine months of this year, in our market, observed by the number of goods and services purchase transactions on the internet made using cards and electronic money in dinars, a growth of 35.3% was made compared to the same period in 2021. While, last year, a total of 16 million transactions in dinars were made, in the first nine months of 2022, the number increased to 21.6 million transactions, as shown by the data of the National Bank of Serbia. According to their data, in the same period, a total of 5 million payments were made online using the Dina cards, based on which a growth of 68% was recorded compared to the same period last year. The growth trend is noticeable in other currencies as well. For online purchases made in euros, a growth of 57.4% was registered and, in the observed period, there were 4.9 million such transactions, a million more than last year.
