Zrenjanin-based Gomex opens 20 stores in 2011 - Expansion of operations outside Vojvodina

The Zrenjanin-based trade company Gomex, one of the market leaders in Vojvodina, plans to expand its operations to the territory of Serbia prior to mid-2011. Namely, the company, which has 64 retail stores (spanning a total of 10,899 square meters), intends to open another 20 stores (spanning a total of about 16,000 square meters) during this year. Gomex registered a turnover of 29.1 million euros in 2010 and it expects a 37.37% growth and a turnover of about 40 million euros in 2011.
The existing distribution center occupies 2,250 square meters of storage space, while a warehouse in the vicinity of Zrenjanin (spanning over 4,500 square meters) will be put in operation in 2011.
During the last year, the company Gomex employed 601 people.
This market chain has developed a private trademark that can be found only in Gomex markets. The assortment of Gomex includes 28 articles from the domains of food, chemical products, and paper goods. All goods are of high quality and all the prices are affordable.
Gomex was formed by Goran Kovacevic in 1995 in Beli Manastir in Croatia. The company is based in Zrenjanin since 1997. In 1999, Gomex expanded its primary field of work - wholesale trade, and started operating in the sector of consumer goods retailing. The investment fund Seaf bought 35% of Gomex in 2007.
