Import of Electricity from Azerbaijan Should Start in January

The import of electrical energy from Azerbaijan should start in January, if all the requirements are met, stated the minister of mining and energy, Dubravka Djedovic.

– That will ensure additional security for the electrical energy system of Serbia in the winter months, when the highest growth of power consumption is expected – Djedovic said for Vecernje Novosti.

According to her, “the quantity of electricity which Azerbaijan can deliver, and which has been defined in the negotiations so far, is 50 MW in transfer capacities”.

– The harmonization of the remaining issues regarding the transfer of energy from that country, which should be realized through the territories of Turkey and Bulgaria, is in progress – Djedovic said.
