Djokovic Family Interested in Construction of Gondola from Vrnjacka Banja Center to Goc Peak

Along with a project of a luxury hotel complex, in line with the highest world standards, on the slopes of Goc above Vrnjacka Banja, the world’s best tennis player and the most successful Serbian athlete of all time, Novak Djokovic, also plans to build a panoramic gondola from the center of the capital of Serbian tourism to the peak of this mountain.

The Djokovic family recently sent the Municipal Council of Vrnjacka Banja a letter on intent to build a new attraction and establish a partnership cooperation with the local self-government.

– The Djokovic family wants to establish a public-private partnership with our municipality in the coming period. Initially, they would take upon themselves the preparation of the project-technical documentation, which is a pretty demanding and very expensive item, they are ready to finance the project, and then also maintain that gondola – said Ivan Dzatic, the deputy president of the Municipality of Vrnjacka Banja, following the session of the council.

Let us remind that, some time ago, the Djokovic family bought 1.17 hectares of land not far from the local road Vrnjacka Banja-Goc, where it intends to build a luxury hotel with an apartment settlement and all the accompanying features.

This complex will spread on 25,000 m2, and the value of the investment is estimated at around EUR 20 million. In addition to that, it has been learned that Novak Djokovic is seriously interested in buying land on the Vrnjacka Banja side of the Goc mountain, where he wants to build a vacation house settlement with attractive sports and recreation and tourist features.
