The prime minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, announced a raise of salaries in the public sector and an increase of pensions by 12.1% from January 1 next year and pointed out that the salaries and pensions would grow considerably more than the inflation.

Brnabic said on TV Prva that Serbia has entered this winter safely, without any power cuts being announced and with a continuous growth of salaries, pensions and minimum wages.

– We have realized the continuous growth of salaries, pensions and minimum wages by taking upon ourselves payments from the budget, by raising non-taxable income, thereby reducing the tax and taking those expenses upon ourselves – the prime minister explained, according to the government’s website.

Regarding foreign investors, Brnabic said that they had arrived because they “need stability when it comes to energy prices”.

According to her, the stability of Serbia is reflected in the fact that we have the cheapest gas, which, for the industry, is cheaper only in Hungary, and when it comes to electrical energy, it is cheaper for the industry in Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
