New Facility of German Company Gruner Opens in Vlasotince

The German company Gruner has opened a new facility in Vlasotince, where another 200 workers have been employed. The company produces components for numerous renowned companies in the automotive industry. On 4,500 m2 of new business space, modern technology for the production of plastic and metal parts and tools for local production, but also the world market, is located.

– This company invested EUR 3.5 million in the new facility, and there are also the salaries, the amount of the money spent in the surrounding stores, the amount that the municipality retains. I am especially happy to see many children here, who have graduated from high school. I believe it is a big thing for our country – said president Aleksandar Vucic, who opened the facility.

Anke Konrad, the ambassador of Germany to Serbia, said that Gruner had become a symbol of that region:

– I hope that there more investors, local and foreign ones, will follow Gruner’s example.

Gruner has been present in Serbia since 2007, said Martin Spreitzer, the CEO of the company.

– Today we invested EUR 23.7 million in Gruner in Serbia. We employ 1,500 people globally. Serbia will be our leading factory when it comes to production technology. The key of this success are people. We have invested in dual education in cooperation with the Technical School in Vlasotince – he said.

Gruner has expanded its existing production capacities from 7,000 m2 to 11,500 m2, and it currently has a total of 750 employees. With the opening of its fourth facility, Gruner is marking its 15th anniversary in Vlasotince.
