The owner of two TV channels, Prva and B92, Srdjan Milovanovic, wants the company SBB to pay EUR 38 million per year for their distribution, as well as three cable channels, in the future, instead of the current price of EUR 3.5 million, SBB announced.

Let us remind that, several days ago, the agreement on cooperation was signed between Pink and Grand Produkcija, based on which the music contest Zvezde Granda will be broadcast on TV Pink from this season.

The press release adds that the latest, “unreasonable request for a price that is as much as 11 times higher is not a product of any big investments in the improvement of the quality of the program of these TV channels, because the fact is that both TV Prva and TV B92 have recorded a declining viewership by all parameters of digital measuring on TV Beat and AGB Nielsen”.

– The offer with the new price arrived 50 days ago, immediately after the contest for the allocation of national frequencies, where the same owner got the permit to use the public good of the citizens of Serbia in the next eight years, for both TV stations too. Obviously encouraged by this outcome of the content, the owner of TV Prva and TV B92 took it upon himself to increase the current fee by an incredible 1,000%, despite the fact that these are channels that the citizens of Serbia can watch for free using a basic TV antenna. At the same time, the TV stations Prva and B92 pay to the state less than a million euros a year for the right to a national frequency, while asking several dozen million euros for distribution from SBB – the press release says.

SBB says that it has been “forced by the unacceptable and ultimate request of the owner of TV Prva and TV B92 to remove both TV channels from its offer, as well as their cable channel portfolio – Prva Plus, Prva Kick and Prva World, from October 28”.
