Government Proposes Increase of Price of Electricity for the Economy

The Government of Serbia recommended EPS to conclude supply contracts with electricity buyers on the commercial market at a single price of EUR 95/MWh excluding VAT for that period. Let us remind that the price for the economy has been EUR 75/MWh.

The Conclusion adopted ensures the smooth functioning of economic entities in the Republic of Serbia, according to the website of the Government of Serbia.

The Serbian government has recommended public company “Electric Power Industry of Serbia” (EPS), the supplier that performs back-up supply of electricity to end customers who do not have the right to guaranteed supply, to perform back-up supply after September 1, 2022, at a price of EUR 123.5/MWh, excluding VAT.

This conclusion will be in effect until November 19 this year.

The Conclusion on the price of electricity for customers on the commercial market, from September 1 to December 31, 2022, was also adopted.

Members of the government adopted the Conclusion on the price of electricity for electricity buyers - legal entities that are holders of defense technologies and members of the group in accordance with the Regulation on the grouping of the defense industry of Serbia, for the supply period from September 1 to December 31, 2022.

The government recommended EPS to offer those customers the conclusion of a supply contract at a single price of electricity of EUR 86.13/MWh without VAT.

This ensures the smooth functioning of economic entities in the defense industry in the Republic of Serbia.

The price of electricity for citizens remains unchanged.
