– Within the marking of the Day of Independence, we are involved in the program of launching of 75 student satellites – said the chairman of the Managing Board of the Committee, Dusan Radosavljevic, and added that, last year, within the same cooperation, three small satellites were launched into the orbit.
The fourth satellite, which is a gift of friendship between the two countries, will be launched by the end of the year. Radosavljevic adds that the Committee from Serbia also gifted an education program to the colleagues from India within the cooperation, that several joint scientific works have been published and that certain products and services have been placed.
They also cooperate with the USA, Tunisia, Russia, Ghana, Italy, Hungary, all the states that have some form of modern space engineering, including the states of the region, says Radosavljevic.
– The joining of former Yugoslav states happened around a month ago, we all worked, we had to work together, we are too small, especially when it comes to such matters, it is only then that our region is big enough and that it all makes sense. Plenty has been done, results have been produced which are not insignificant. We have agreed to share all our achievements for the purpose of future cooperation, we have done so, and to not waste time – Radosavljevic stated.
Related to that, he explained that the launching of a fourth Indian-Serbia satellite has been announced and that the request was for it to in fact be a satellite of India and the Southeast European Space Association, which has been accepted, and the region is thereby “going to space” together by the end of the year.
– I believe that it’s a beautiful beginning of cooperation and Serbia’s gift to the whole region – Radosavljevic says and adds that it is important for people to feel the benefit from the development of space technology as soon as possible, beginning with local experts who would work in their own country.
