Zagreb’s “Jutarnji List” writes that Belgrade-based airliner JAT has right to a part of the airport located on island Krk in Croatia, whereas companies from Serbia and Montenegro are registered owners of over 100 real estates in Croatia.

According to the text published in the aforementioned newspaper, the estimate of the consul general of SCG in Rijeka, Dušan Mrdović, is that that property, which was nationalized by the Croatian Government in the 1990’s, should be returned to the owners or their legal heirs on the basis of annex in the contract on succession.

The newspaper reminds that two most famous cases of resolving of problems with ownership rights between Croatia and SCG are the open competition for sale of holiday hostel on island of Jakljan and the sale of attractive land in Osor on island of Cres, whereas tens of holiday hostels on Krk, Cres, Lošinj, Crikvenica and Opatija are still owned by the companies from Serbia.

According to the words of Mrdović, the Directorate for Management of Property of Government of Serbia is informed on the case «Osor» and the updated data on status of real estates in Croatia are asked for.

He pointed out that he did not have information on which of those facilities were for sale, because only the aforementioned Directorate took care of that, but he said that court disputes over certain real estates, which was the case with about 150 square meters of office space in very center of Rijeka owned by shipping company “Jugooceanija” from Kotor, were in progress for years.

The consulate of SCG was not included in those cases of sale, so that it was not the participant in the sales or court procedures in any way, Mrdović pointed out.

The list the consulate of SCG obtained in 1991 shows that the building of airport Krk is the property of Serbia, or better say JAT. In this case, the entire airport building is owned by the company from Serbia, whereas, in some other cases, which is the case with the numerous offices of former Yugoslav companies “Jugobanka” and “Jugopetrol”, it is stated precisely if the entire facility or only part of it is owned by some company from Serbia.

Theoretically, that means that the airport on Krk may be offered for sale on some future tender, similar to the current sale of 750,000 square meters near Osor.

“Jutarnji List” also writes that, according to the unofficial information, there is also list of the real estates owned by Serbia in the Istra region, but consul Mrdović whose jurisdiction is the region of Istra and the region of Primorsko-Goranska does not know anything about that.
