The Government of Serbia will lift the ban on the export of grains at the next session. After nearly four months, the trading will be free and unlimited again, as reported on the Novosti website.

Experts in Serbia welcomed this decision, but also pointed out that it was unnecessary, because the country produced enough grains for its own needs, but also for exports, especially given that it was known that it would enter the harvest season with a substantial stock. That the ban will be lifted was confirmed yesterday by the minister of agriculture, Branislav Nedimovic, following a meeting with representatives of the Initiative for the Survival of Agriculturists. That was their main request.

– At the next government session, a free export of grains will be proposed and I have notified the representatives of the association of it – Nedimovic emphasized. – Also, there are some technical things that we agreed regarding agricultural credits and the delaying of the payment of rent for state agricultural land in parts experiencing extreme drought. The meeting was constructive and it is great that problems are discussed. The most important thing is to talk and to find solutions in this strange time of all the events in Ukraine, which have an incredible effect on food and energy – he said.
