Elixir Group Planning to Build Factory in Egypt

The local company Elixir Group has agreed cooperation with the leading Egyptian company for the exploitation and research of the phosphate ore, Misr Phosphate Company (MPCO), which entails joint activities, from the exploitation of new mining fields in the Red Sea area, through the exchange of knowledge and technologies, to the construction of a joint factory in Egypt. It has been confirmed through the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation of the two companies at Elixir Group in Novi Sad.

– At the meeting with the Egyptian partners, we agreed several joint ventures. Our institutes will do the enriching and cleaning of phosphorous rocks, because they have a rich experience in it, so as to raise the quality of Egyptian phosphate – said Stanko Popovic, the owner of Elixir Group.

We will also do the feasibility study for the construction of a joint factory of phosphorous acid in Egypt using Elixir’s technology. It would be a joint venture in Egypt, Popovic added.

A closer connection of Elixir with the Egyptian national mining company, according to him, would secure a stable supply of our market and agriculturists in the long term.

– We presented our know-how to our Egyptian friends. They are satisfied with how far Elixir has progressed when it comes to know-how and technologies and they want to implement that knowledge over there, because our company exports its products to 85 countries of the world and has phosphorous acid factories – points out Popovic, as announced by the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS).

He thanked the CCIS and its president, Marko Cadez, with whose support, as he emphasized, they managed to connect with MPCO, which has the right to the exploitation of 70% of the total reserves of the phosphate ore site in Egypt.

– The job that Elixir agreed with the Egyptian partner, and only four months after the first visit to Egypt organized by the CCIS, is the best proof that the huge potentials of the cooperation of the economies of Serbia and Egypt, in addition to the field of increasing the trade, also exist in the sphere of innovations and joint investments, both here and in the Egyptian market.

At the same time, this also confirms that Serbia has companies, such as Elixir, which are not only capable of investing outside the borders of their country, but also to transfer their know-how and the most modern technologies to foreign partners through joint projects. In addition to establishing contacts and networking our business communities, Serbian and Egyptian companies will be able to count on the support of the CCIS in all phases of the realization of the agreed projects – stated Cadez.
