Good Harvest of Oil Plants of at Least 735,000 Tons Expected

The price of oil from the sunflower from the new harvest should not surprise consumers as much as it did last year. A good harvest of at least 735,000 tons, an equivalent of the production of up to 350,000 tons of oil, is expected in Serbia, whereas annually, we spend 80,000 to 100,000 tons.

Last year’s refined oil stock is pretty high, according to exporters, and the Government of Serbia adopted, several days ago, an amended decision on the export of oil, whereby the export to other markets is allowed only for producers.

– The export of oil, according to the amended decision, is allowed to registered producers, considering that the sunflower harvest begins in mid-August, so it’s necessary to unload the storage capacities – the government announced.

When it comes to oil plants, the expectations are positive in the European Union as well. According to the report of the EU Farmers’ Association and the Copa and Cogeca group, published yesterday, a yield of 32.1 million tons is projected in the EU, which is 8.5% more than last year and above the five-year average of 29.8 million tons by 7.7%.
