Holcim Acquires Teko Mining Serbia

Lafarge Serbia, a member of Holcim Group, has acquired Teko Mining Serbia, one of the country’s largest independent aggregates companies with estimated 2022 net sales of over EUR 20 million.

– The acquisition includes Teko’s four quarries and the asphalt base Vinca and will strengthen Holcim’s footprint in the dynamic Serbian market, complementing its recent acquisition of Kamenolom Podbukovi, another aggregates producer in the region – Lafarge announced.

– Teko complements our existing cement and concrete operations perfectly, allowing us to add aggregates and asphalt and the production of fillers as part of our integrated offer in this highly dynamic market. Dimitrije Knjeginjic, CEO Lafarge Serbia, pointed out that, with that acquisition, they strengthened their leading position in the production and sale of building materials in the Serbian market.

– Investing in the expansion of our business, through the acquisition of Teko Mining and Kamenolom Podbukovi, enables us to quickly enter three new business segments – aggregates, asphalt and lime fillers, in which we haven’t operated so far, which will be a great support to the development of infrastructure in Serbia. Lafarge has been operating in Serbia for a full 20 years, during which we have constantly invested in the development of our operations, relying on the long tradition of the cement factory, implementing innovations and successfully overcoming all challenges. Teko Mining has quarries in Batocina, Ceramide, Ljubovija and Ladne Vode and the asphalt base Vinca, and it employs over 150 people within its organization. Its high-quality aggregates are strategically located for asphalt production, railway construction and high strength applications.
