Hemi Eco, Milinkovic Company-MC System and Quattro Construction in the finals of Lafarge Invention Awards 2010
Hemi Eco, Milinkovic Company-MC System and Quattro Construction are three companies from Serbia that have entered the finals of the Lafarge Invention Awards 2010 competition. As Lafarge announced, a total of 104 projects have been submitted into the competition, 10 of which from Serbia.
Lafarge Group announced an open competition in mid-June 2010 for the best innovations in the field of sustainable construction in order to stay up to date and reward the most inventive projects in Europe in the field of construction industry.
Hemi Eco, the company owned by Srecko Stefanovic, has applied with a project named "Engineered concrete block", Milinkovic Company – MC System, owned by Milenko Milinkovic, has submitted the project "Facilities made of specially prefabricated ferrocement elements", while Quattro Construction, owned by Jovan Nikolic, has entered the competition with a project named "Panel building system with uninterrupted internal insulation".
The candidates from Serbia are going to present their projects on January 5, 2011, in Lion, to an international jury made of experts from Lafarge, as well as eminent scientists and economists. The Lafarge business unit in Serbia - Lafarge BFC, will provide all the necessary support to Serbian candidates in order to help them prepare the best they can, reads the statement.
In accordance with the propositions of the competition, three out of ten finalists will be rewarded with 20,000 euros each. Names of the winners will be announced in mid-January.
