Perutnina Ptuj gave up acquisition - Srbijagas takes over Agroziv
Slovenian company Perutnina Ptuj announced on Friday (December 3, 2010) that it had given up the acquisition of Serbian poultry meat manufacturer Agroziv in Zitiste.
- We have come to the conclusion, based on the analysis of the potentials of Agroziv and its brands and market share, that we would not get what we expect at this moment - reads Perutnina Ptuj's statement.
The Slovenian company stated that it would keep developing its own processing capacities in Serbia. The company obtained the complete food processing system when it took over Backa Topola-based Topiko in 2007.
- We have invested over 40 million euros in the development of Topiko and significantly increased the processing capacities - reads the statement.
Croatian economic portal Seebiz (www.seebiz.eu) announced that the only bid for the acquisition of Agroziv had been submitted by public company Srbijagas.
According to Serbian Minister of Trade Slobodan Milosavljevic, Agroziv's share in the domestic market amounts to about 30%, and the company has a potential for the annual turnover of between 30 and 40 million euros.
