Agricultural Combine PKB seeks strategic partner for investment in renewable and combined sources of energy
Poljoprivredni Kombinat Beograd (Agricultural Combine Belgrade) - PKB, is seeking a strategic partner for an investment in projects that would use both renewable and combined sources of energy.
PKB, as the largest agricultural company in Serbia, owns 21,000 ha of cultivable land and 21,000 heads of cattle of various categories.
In order to organize the production and use these capacities, PKB has at its disposal a significant quantity of biomass, which can be used as a renewable source of energy for the production of biogas, heating energy and for the combined production of energy on the existing infrastructure.
For the biogas production project, PKB has at its disposal 160,000 tons of solid cow manure with about 16% of dry matter and 10,000 tons of wheat hay on annual basis.
According to the plan of PKB, biogas would be used in the co-generative unit for production of electric energy, which would be sold to the EPS at stimulating prices, in accordance with the Regulation of the Government of Serbia, while heat would be sold as a by-product.
The location of the biogas production unit is in the vicinity of the industrial zone, next to a paved road, and it is equipped with water and electricity connections.
As raw materials for the heating energy production project, PKB can offer 3,000 tons of soybean hay, 6,000 tons of corn, and 600 tons of other plant mass. The purpose of the unit is to produce heating energy in the winter period for public institutions in Padinska Skela and, in accordance with its capacity, for the production facilities of PKB.
A potential investor, as a strategic partner of PKB, should be ready for joint investments and future cooperation in the implementation of projects, it should suggest technical-technological solutions, present its capacities and estimates of the scope of overall investments.
The existing energy needs of PKB amount to 12 million MJ in the winter period and 3.5 million MJ in the summer period.
The plan is that the plant be built in Padinska Skela, in a location that is completely equipped with infrastructure.
The deadline for submission of bids is December 20, 2010.
