Cacak Looking for Designer for Basketball Museum in Sokolana – Legacies of Kicanovic, Obradovic and Misovic Planned

The City of Cacak has published the tender for the preparation of the project-technical documentation for the reconstruction and adaptation of a separate annex of the National Museum for the purposes of the forming of the Basketball Museum.

According to the project task, the project is needed for an all-encompassing reconstruction and adaptation of the existing Sokolana facility, which is not fit to be used and currently serves as a training space.

It is noted that the conditions of the protection of cultural monuments allow for interventions within the facility itself, whereas the exterior and the façade ornaments may not be changed.

According to the project, as said, on the exterior, it is only innovative lighting and a suitable development of the accompanying exterior areas that will be encompassed.

The access area will be expanded and adapted for people with disabilities. The entrance section will feature a part with a ticket booth and a gift shop and places for the visitors to rest, as well as coffee vending machines.

Spaces for legacies of prominent names from the world of basketball – Dragan Kicanovic, Zeljko Obradovic and Radmilo Misovic – are planned within the gallery.

The reconstructed facility will have new air conditioning, water, sewer and hydrant network installations, as well as LED lighting.

The tender is open until May 18.
