Building permit for regional landfill in Sremska Mitrovica - Investment worth 11 million euros

All conditions have been met for the construction of a regional landfill in Sremska Mitrovica. Graduate civil engineer Dusanka D. Sremacki, the Provincial Secretary for Architecture, Urbanism and Construction, has signed the building permit for construction of a regional landfill complex for communal waste with a recycling center in Sremska Mitrovica.
The investor is the city of Sremska Mitrovica. The value of the works, based on the Justification Study, is 11 million euros. The money will be provided from the funds of the European Union and the city budgets of Sremska Mitrovica and Sabac.
The complex comprises functional units on the lot no. 2803/6 in the cadastral municipality of Sasinci, occupying the area of 20 ha 28 ar and 27 sqm and intended for: body of the landfill - formation of waste disposal cassettes, technical part of the landfill, and access roads.
The aim of the project is to promote environment protection and resolve the problem of disposal of solid communal waste on the territory of Sremska Mitrovica and the city of Sabac, as well as to respect the National Strategy for Waste Management and the adopted legislation in the fields of waste management and environment protection.
