New Intercity bus station in Novi Sad to be completed by July, value of works – €10m-€12m

Construction of Intercity bus station, according to the project of architect Radoje Cvetkov, at the corner of Novosadski Partizanski Odred Road and Sentandrejski Road, should be finished in July – announced the owner of ATP "Vojvodina", Ilija Dević, whose land is used for construction of the facility. The value of the works is €10m-€12m and the contractor is building company "Budućnost".

Dević says that it will be one of the most beautiful bus stations in Europe. Although “Budućnost" wasn’t the cheapest bidder, this company is chosen for it is considered the best to meet the demands. According to the project, the buses will enter and exit platforms through Partizanska Street and they will be able to move in two directions. The station will have 22 platforms, 40 parking places for buses, window hall, waiting room, restaurant, pastry shop, bank, pharmacy and boutiques.

Construction of the repair shop for “Mercedes” and “Setra” buses on six hectares in the vicinity of the station the repair shop is already in progress. The second phase that will start in summer includes construction of hotel and gas station. The plan is that the hotel has 36 rooms and six suites.

According to his words, the complete infrastructure will be introduced to the grounds of ATP "Vojvodina", whereas the introduction of infrastructure outside the space of this company is the obligation of the city, on which the contract was signed with the Institute for Construction of City in December 2005.
