It is almost for certain that the first generators of Energowind will be installed on the territory of Plandiste. Namely, this municipality has gone the furthest in the negotiations with the company, which plans to invest 150 million euros in the construction of a wind farm with 50 wind generators of a total power of 110 MW.

Judging by all that, Energowind, which held an official presentation of its project about ten days ago, will first tame the wind in Plandiste and then in Vrsac and other towns in Banat where the implementation of similar projects has been announced.

- The municipal administration is trying hard to enable the investor to get all the permits in as short time as possible. Adoption of the plan for detailed regulation of the wind farm will be on the agenda at the first next meeting of the Municipal Assembly - Rodika Grujesku, an information associate in that municipality, told eKapija.

According to the words of Ms. Grujesku, the investment of 150 million euros is, definitely, the largest investment in south Banat. For Plandiste, the greatest benefit from that project lies in the formation of Windpark Plandiste 1 company by the investor on the territory of that municipality, which will provide them with incomes from taxes.

- Besides, one of the advantages is the fact that certain number of locals will be employed, primarily for the preparation works. As people at Energowind explained to us, preparation works are huge, followed by construction works, while people will also be hired later to maintain the wind farm – Grujesku pointed out for eKapija.

More energy than from Djerdap hydroelectric power plant

As the study showed earlier, the wind potentials on this territory amount to 730 units, which means that power generators, that is, windmills, can produce electric energy of 1,300 MW, which is more than the potentials of Djerdap hydroelectric power plant.

According to the spatial plan for the municipality of Plandiste, wind generators can be installed on agricultural land and the land around them can still be cultivated. One generator, occupying the surface of 100 square meters, can produce electric energy of 2 MW, which means that it can supply power to a settlement of the size of Plandiste. In addition to new jobs, the supply with electric power will be much better.

Fight against underdevelopment

The municipality of Plandiste is one of the most underdeveloped local self-governments in Vojvodina. Its this year's budget is about 2 million euros.

- When you have an opportunity to get the 100-year budget in only year or two, it is clear why we want so badly to have this project implemented as soon as possible. That also opens a possibility of employment of local population. That is why we will do our best to enable the investor to collect all the required permits until the beginning of the next building season - Plandiste Mayor Zoran Vorkapic has promised recently.

One of the favorable things for the investor is the fact that 110 kV long-distance power line runs close to the future wind farm and that it can receive all the produced "green" energy.
