As they point out, the Serbian Association of Employers believes that it is necessary to carefully analyze the advantages and flaws of work outside the employer’s premises, in order to ensure the competitiveness of the local economy, but also improve the work conditions for the employees.
According to them, it is necessary to specify the differences between work from home and remote work and introduce the possibility of regulating the employment so that the employee spends a part of their working hours at home, through an adequate framework.
They also believe that it is necessary to define the obligations regarding the equipment and resources for work, the compensation of the costs of work, as well as the obligations of the employer regarding workplace safety.
It is also pointed out that these and many other aspects of work from home are currently not regulated and are therefore subject to arbitrary assessments and decisions, which is not to the benefit of either the employers or the employees.
