Be smart - Jubilee 55th Belgrade Book Fair opened
The jubilee 55th international Belgrade Book Fair, of which motto is "Be smart", was opened last night by writer Laslo Vegel, while all the present were also greeted by Osa Lind, a writer of books for kids from Sweden.
In Hall 1 of the Belgrade Fair, Vegel pointed out that the books were necessary to us as much as the European Union, while Ms. Lind stated that books had given her the opportunity to travel across the oceans and borders and prevented the time and space from being obstacles.
Zeljko Ozegovic, the Chairman of the Board of the Fair and a member of the City Council, told Beoinfo that the Book Fair was one of the most important cultural manifestation in our part of Europe and that it was of great significance to Belgrade and Serbia.
– This year's visitors will enjoy 330 accompanying programs, 250 of which are organized by the Board of the Fair together with publishers, while 80 programs are prepared by Sweden, the country guest of honor. Most of the programs are intended for kids. There will also be the Family Day, which will be organized for the first time this year. The idea is that parents, at the promo price of 600 dinars, bring as many kids as possible, all that with the aim of developing the love for books among younger generations – Ozegovic pointed out.
According to his words, the price of individual ticket of 250 dinars and the price of 150 dinars for group visits remained the same as the last year, while the installation of the ramp makes it possible for people with disabilities to move without difficulties and enjoy books.
The jubilee manifestation is open for visitors between October 25 and 31, every day from 10 AM to 8 PM.
