During the past month, a special German measurement train for the testing of high-speed railways has performed over 400 runs on various sections between Belgrade and Novi Sad, as per the announcement made on Wednesday.
As specified, a significant part of those rides was realized at a speed of 200 kilometers per hour, and the tests were performed under various weather conditions and during the night.
After only four days of testing, this special train of the German Railways reached a record speed of more than 200 kilometers per hour on the Serbian railway.
During the testing, the safety of railway traffic has been entirely preserved, there were no traffic incidents and the trial run was completed successfully and according to the plan.
It was also announced that, in the upcoming period, the experts from this German company will make a report and analysis on the tests performed on the Belgrade-Novi Sad high-speed railway and deliver them to the Serbian Railway Infrastructure company.
The test train of the German Railways performed dynamic tests of high-speed rail in several phases and by sections, and they included testing the geometry of the newly built high-speed tracks, the contact network parameters, installed high-speed equipment, compatibility of equipment and systems, and other construction works.
By doing this, the company Deutsche Bahn Systemtechnik has completed its work on the first high-speed railway in Serbia, however the testing between Belgrade and Novi Sad continues, the statement said.
Every day, trial runs of new double-decker Stadler trains at speeds of 200 kilometers per hour take place on this section. These same trains will be operate regular traffic on the Belgrade-Novi Sad line from mid-March.
This week, test runs of Stadler`s high-speed trains will be intensified, with a large number of departures and rides every day, the announcement stated.
This way, train tests can be performed at a speed of 200 kilometers per hour, and simultaneously the train drivers can gain the necessary experience in operating these modern, stae-of-the-art trains.
The announcement emphasized that the period of getting used to the high-speed railway system is ahead of us. This includes infrastructure capacities, vehicles and employees as well - the end goal is for the high-speed railway to be fully ready for regular traffic by mid-March.
