Exhibition of Urban Development of Novi Sad at SPENS

An exhibition which showcases the urban development of Novi Sad, called “Novi Sad – A Modern City”, opened on Saturday, February 12, at SPENS, one of the symbols of the city’s modernist architecture.

The multimedia architectural exhibition looks back on the processes of the industrialization of the city, radical infrastructural changes, new living spaces in the city, as well as the locations in which the social life was established in the second half of the 20th century.

“Novi Sad – Modern City” does not look back to the past with nostalgia or the intent to idealize it, but with the desire to have us understand the processes which have shaped the city into what it is today.

Through six stories, accompanied with never before seen archival footage of the construction of the city, all the key processes which created the modernity of Novi Sad will be explained.

The exhibition will be located at Hall 8 (entrance from Radnicka Street) until February 26.

The authors are Dr Dragana Konstantinovic, Slobodan Jovic, Maja Momirov, Dr Miljana Zekovic, Dr Visnja Zugic and Bojan Stojkovic.
