The Association of Accountants and Auditors of Serbia (SRRS) has announced today that it supports the adoption and the announced implementation of the Law on Fiscalization and the Law on e-Invoices, which will contribute to a more efficient fiscal system in Serbia, as well as the Law on Accountancy.

SRRS says that professional accountants, as members of the association, are an important partner to subjects to fiscalization when it comes to switching to the new model, and primarily as support in registering business premises, and also in applying for subsidies, a process which was recently finished, and in inquiring about the security element provided by the Tax Administration.

The Association invites its members to continue to actively help their clients with getting included in the new model of e-fiscalization and to incite them to switch to the new model as soon as possible and not to wait for the final deadline.

The Accounting Chamber of Serbia and the Association for Protection of Enterprises and Companies of Serbia (Udruzenje “Zastitnik preduzetnika i privrednika Srbije”) requested a few days ago for the implementation of the Law on Fiscalization and the Law on e-Invoicing to be postponed until the end of the year due to the short deadlines for the implementation of the legal regulations for accountants.

– SRRS believes that fiscalization subjects have enough time to adapt and switch to a new e-fiscalization model, especially considering that the implementation of the Law on Fiscalization has already been postponed once, just like the implementation of the Law on e-Invoices – the announcement says.

It is added that 130,000 fiscalization subjects have already registered business premises locations and that 124,000 subjects have applied for a state subsidy for the procurement of fiscal devices.

SRRS reminds that the Law on Fiscalization envisages the full flexibility of the system, which entails that the users can use, among other things, tablets, computers and mobile phones as fiscal devices, which means that fiscalization subjects are not restricted by the necessity of buying a new fiscal device.

– We believe that the process of digitization of the operations of business entities in Serbia does not require additional postponement and that quite enough time has been provided until May 1, until which time everyone is supposed to switch to new models – says SRRS.

They add that the transitory period of three years was quite sufficient and that the providers of accounting services had enough time to adapt, especially considering that the market of Serbia now features several dozen thousand professional accountants with an adequate professional title.
