Knauf Insulation Buys Glass Wool Factory in Romania – Increased Production for the Whole Region

Knauf Insulation has signed the agreement on the purchase of the glass mineral wool factory Gescat in central Romania

By purchasing the factory, Knauf Insulation wants to brings its products and solutions closer to the purchasers in the fast-growing markets of the whole region, Romania, east Europe and former Soviet states.

Dominique Bossan, CEO of Knauf Insulation Europe/Middle East/Asia, and Member of the Knauf Group Management Committee, stated on this occasion: “The Romanian acquisition will support Knauf Insulation’s growth ambitions and add extra capacity to meet increasing demand for our solutions across the Eastern European and CIS regions.”

After closing of the transaction, the plant, based in Tarnaveni, Mures County, will be upgraded to Knauf Insulation’s manufacturing standards. Knauf Insulation produces innovative Glass Mineral Wool with ECOSE Technology® and composed of up to 80% recycled glass.
