The construction of bridge across the Danube, which will join Krnjača and Karaburma somewhere across the middle part of Ada Huja, about 2,500 meters downstream from the existing Pančevo’s bridge, should start at the end of 2007. The major share of investments should be covered by the Government of Japan, i.e. company Mitsui. The official opening of the bridge is expected in 2010.

It is estimated that the investment will amount to €95m, the length of the bridge should be 1,080 m, the width should amount to 24.2 m, access roads should be 1,200 m long, whereas access bridges should be 660 meters long. The bridge will, most probably, be a classical one, with beams, and it is taken into consideration that this bridge be also used as a railway bridge – explains Đorđe Bobić, the head architect of City of Belgrade.

It is expected that the Japanese will arrive at the end of February 2006, whereas, at the beginning of 2006, the Government of Japan will be deciding about this donation.
