France Expresses Interest in Modernization of Power Distribution Network in Serbia

The minister of mining and energy of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlovic, talked today to the ambassador of France to Serbia, Pierre Cochard, on the cooperation of two countries on the modernization of the Serbian energy sector.

Mihajlovic pointed out that Serbia was at the beginning of the energy transition process, which opens new possibilities for cooperation between the two states and their companies.

– We have adopted a new legislative framework in the field of mining and energy, harmonized with the EU regulations, which includes the Law on the Use of Renewable Energy Sources, and prepared a new investment plan, worth EUR 17 billion, in which the focus is on green energy projects – she reminded, as announced on the website of the Government of Serbia.


Cooperation on projects of modernization of the transfer and distribution networks and the possibilities for an exchange of experiences when it comes to a fair transition in the mining sector were also considered at the meeting.
