– The miners of Kolubara and Kostolac are requesting written guarantees from president Vucic that he will save them from enemies in the country and from abroad who want to close our mines, or they will march on Belgrade, and it is my obligation to tell that to president Vucic and the public – Grcic said.
He noted that the latest cause of such a reaction of more than 15,000 miners of EPS was the request of Viola von Cramon, a member of the European Parliament from the German party the Greens, to close the mines and thermal power plants in Serbia.
The director of EPS reminded that the mining and thermal sectors of EPS ensured the energy security of Serbia, which has shown to be true again in the past few months, as Europe is dealing with the biggest energy crisis so far.
– There are constant pressures and attacks on miners and that is why they asked me to have their president provide a written guarantee for their jobs and the survival of their families and to finally see who is working against EPS and the interests of Serbia – Grcic said.
