In an interview for the YouTube channel Soloviev Live, Vucic said that Serbia had not considered this before, but that it was beginning to consider it seriously now.
He said that there was a problem with financing, because, as he said, a large nuclear power plant costs more than 10 billion, and Serbia has decided for its public debt to always be below 60%.
The director of Srbijagas, Dusan Bajatovic, says that it is good that the question of the building of a nuclear power plant in Serbia is being discussed these days.
– We need to have our own nuclear power plant – Bajatovic said.
According to him, the price of electrical energy in America is currently USD 37 per megawatt, whereas in Europe it’s 250 to 300.
– The crisis will last, it will not be resolved in a month or two. We are not exempt from it all – he noted.
He added that many larger factories had asked for better offers from EPS.
Bajatovic announced the expansion of the gas storage facility in Banatski Dvor, but also said that Serbia needed to build another storage facility and continue the process of gasification of the whole country.
