The representative of the temporary Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade in Kosovo, Rozeta Hajdari, announced today the possibility of implementing measures against confectionery products from central Serbia, in order to “protect local producers from the import”.

At a press conference, Hajdari said that there was a regulatory framework in Kosovo and Metohija on the protection of local producers in the case of an increased import, but added that it was not being enforced, Koha reports.

– The importing of products has increased a lot, which is hurting the local producers. In the commerce sector, there has been an increase in the import from Serbia, unlike last year. The export of Kosovo is only 1% in 2020, as it is now. We will take measures against confectionery products such as biscuits and candies produced in Serbia, because there’s been a great increase in the import of those products. We will take a look at the evidence and then make a decision about the measures – she stated.
