Bridge across the Tisa near Ada from October - Capital Investment Fund of Vojvodina invested about 8 million euros in construction
- A bridge across the Tisa river near Ada has been built. Works on access roads on both sides of the bridge are close to end. The bridge will be opened for traffic in two or three weeks - it was said at the building site that was visited yesterday by Prime Minister of Vojvodina Dr. Bojan Pajtic.
- The bridge near Ada is one of the Vojvodina's largest investments in the previous few years. Once it is opened for traffic, it will represent a strong economic momentum of development of this region, northern Backa and norther Banat. This bridge will significantly shorten distances between the municipalities of Kikinda, Ada, Coka, Novi Becej, it will connect northern Banat and Corridor 10 and enable arrival of investors and better life. It will also be made easier for farmers to cultivate their land on both sides of the Tisa because one of rare remaining scaffolds was situated here. Municipalities that will directly benefit from this junction deserve this bridge, as a facility of great infrastructure significance - said Pajtic.
The Capital Investment Fund of Vojvodina invested over 770 million dinars in the bridge construction, while another 45 million dinars were spent on construction of access roads.
The bridge near Ada will shorten the road to Kikinda from current 63 to 27 kilometers. Construction of the planned road network about 20 km long is continued on the side of Banat. In addition, the bridge near Ada will also be of regional importance. After construction of a cloverleaf interchange near Mali Idjos on Corridor 10, that will also be the best traffic route for connecting these municipalities with Sombor and other municipalities in the Western Backa region. At the level of AP Vojvodina, this transverse line will be connecting five regions, that is, it will create conditions for connecting 40% of whole population in Vojvodina.
With the opening of the bridge near Ada for traffic, the shortest route will be created for travel from Hungary and Croatia, via Serbia, to Romania.
