Second phase of Big Backa Canal revitalization project announced - Job worth EUR 13.5m
Representatives of the municipalities of Kula and Vrbas and over twenty foreign and domestic companies interested in construction of the central waste water treatment unit attended the presentation of the project for potential contractors for the second phase of works on the Big Backa Canal Revitalization project. The presentation took place in Vrbas late last week.
The project is organized by MISP – Municipal Infrastructure Support Programme, the European Commission, the National Investment Plan (NIP), and public company Directorate for Development of Vrbas.
- All factories that release waste water to the canal will have to install primary filters, then they will be connected to the main sewer from which the water will be released to the central filter, and then to the canal. Upon completion of the open competition for the contractor, which will be closed on September 27th, construction of the central waste water treatment unit of Kula and Vrbas will commence - it is stated on the website of the Kula municipality.
Total of 40 companies from Serbia and abroad have expressed interest in construction of the unit. The plan is that the construction takes 18 months. Total budget of the project is EUR 13.5m.
