The Chinese company PowerChina wants to realize its first big investment in RES in Europe, specifically, in Serbia, especially when it comes to new hydro power plants, solar power plants and wind farms, said Ji Xiaoyong, who led the company’s delegation at the meeting with the minister of mining and energy of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlovic, the ministry announced.

– We know that you have adopted new laws and that you are dedicated to sustainable development and green energy. We want to have our first big investment in RES in Europe here, especially when it comes to new hydro power plants, solar power plants and wind farms, because we believe that the possibilities are great there, considering the excellent relations of the two countries, the potentials of Serbia and the good investment environment – said Xiaoyong.

Mihajlovic brought the representatives of the Chinese company up to date with the changes at the ministry, primarily the new investment plan and the legal framework.

– Our goal is to improve the energy stability in the next decades, and the vision of green Serbia will enable the economic growth, new jobs and enough energy coming from renewable sources. Most of the projects worth EUR 17 billion in the new investment cycle have to do precisely with RES. The project book is a representation of the potentials of Serbia in the fields of electrical energy, RES, heating energy, energy efficiency, geology and mining, as well as innovative projects in the field of hydrogen technologies. We want to cooperate with the best world companies in all these fields and you are welcome to be present in our market in this sector as well – she said.

She especially emphasized the importance of the construction of new capacities for the production of energy from renewable sources and said that it would secure long-term energy stability.
