The opera will be conducted by the guest from Italy, Andrea Solinas. Serbian National Theater has continued its cooperation with the young and talented director from Belgrade Aleksandar Nikolic, and the choreography was done by Aleksandar Ilic.
- Aida is one of the most demanding music and stage projects and we think that it is extremely bold move to even dare taking such a step. The state should stand behind the endeavor of such size and importance, so that we can stimulate other institutions to dream big, all to the satisfaction of the audience - said Assistant Minister of Culture and Information Radovan Jokic, who visited the construction site of the currently largest stage in the Balkans.
Aida was first performed in Egypt, in 1871, precisely 150 years ago, and, according to the statement issued by the City of Novi Sad, on the stage of the Serbian National Theater, the last performance of that great opera was back in 1982.
