Petrol, a Slovenian energy company with the widest network of electric chargers in Slovenia and over 350 chargers in the region, has started installing chargers for electric vehicles in Serbia as well. As of last week, drivers of electric and hybrid vehicles can also refuel their vehicles at Petrol's gas station near Ada in Belgrade.

- At Petrol, we carefully monitor trends in the field of e-mobility, invest in research and development and thus contribute to sustainable modes of transport. We are aware that the underdeveloped infrastructure of electric chargers is one of the main obstacles for many drivers who would like to opt for this environmentally friendly mode of transport. In order to contribute to the increase in the number of battery charging points, within our Petrol Ada gas station in Belgrade, we have put into operation a fast station for charging electric vehicles. This charging station allows two electrically powered vehicles to be charged at the same time, and has connectors for three types of models: CHAdeMO for maximum charging, with power of 50kW, CCS / Combo for fast DC charging vehicles, with power of 50kW and AC with maximum charging power 43 kW. It is a model that allows, depending on the battery capacity of the electric vehicle, to charge properly equipped vehicles from 0% to 80% in about 30 minutes - said Uros Bider, General Manager of Petrol for the Serbian market.

Significant growth in sales of electric and hybrid vehicles is expected in the coming years. Although today, according to the estimates of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, around 4,000 electric and hybrid vehicles are registered in Serbia, it is forecasted that this segment will experience a real expansion in the upcoming period.

- Sustainable development is a priority of the Petrol Group, the core of our mission and business model. Installing a fast charger on Petrol Ada is the first investment of its kind in our country, but we do not plan to stop there. We will continue to expand the network of chargers for electric vehicles with the aim of increasing the number of those vehicles on the roads of Serbia. At Petrol, we are aware that we have only one planet that we want to preserve for future generations. A sustainable, low-carbon and smart society is part of our vision, so we invest in energy efficiency and renewable energy projects and we guarantee energy savings - concludes Bider.
