This Monday, the members of the City Assembly of Belgrade are voting for the Detailed Regulation Plan for the Linear Park in Dorcol, announced the deputy mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic, as reported by Beoinfo.

– The conditions for the opening of the tender have thereby met, and by the end of the year we will start building the Linear Park, which will stretch from Beton Hala to the Pancevo Bridge – Vesic announced.

He specified that the construction of the park would take three years and that it would cost EUR 55 million.

– In this year’s budget, we set aside EUR 15 million for this park, which was designed by 55 young architects. Where the railway used to separate Belgrade from the river, there will be a linear park with five kilometers of cycling lanes, 100,000 square meters of pedestrian areas, 200,000 square meters of green areas, 5,000 new trees and 500 benches. That will change that part of the city entirely – Vesic pointed out.

He added that the park would have seven units.

– Green walls, green roofs and roof gardens are envisaged, and features for birds and other animals, ecological habitats, freshness islands, ecological street furniture and green sound barriers for transit traffic will be secured within the public green area – described the deputy mayor.

He pointed out that, below the park, four underground passages for cars will be built, in the extension of Tadeusa Koscuska Street in the direction of the Danube, below Dunavska Street and below the Linear Park, as well as in Knezepoljska Street and in the extension of Cvijiceva Street.

According to him, new water, sewer and power networks are to be built, as well as telecommunications infrastructure and new gas pipeline capacities.

– The linear park is planned as a single unit of around 22.8 hectares, on sixteen parcels, and will be part of a unique system of green areas of Belgrade, and parts of the park should be developed as functional units for rest and recreation – Vesic said.
