The minister of communications and transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vojin Mitrovic, has held a meeting with the chairman of the Turkish company Tasyapi, Emrullah Turanli, on the occasion of the official visit of the president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

They talked about the realization of the infrastructure project of the construction of the Sarajevo-Belgrade-Sarajevo highway, which is the result of the agreement between the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on the cooperation in infrastructure and construction projects. As emphasized at the meeting, the priority is the route which is ready for the realization, that is, the designing and the construction of the Raca-Bijeljina-Brcko section. At the moment, the signing, that is, the defining of a commercial contract between Tasyapi and Autoputevi Republike Srpske, is the most important for the realization of this project.

The draft agreement has been forwarded to Autoputevi RS and is currently in the phase of harmonization, that is, negotiations about the important elements of the commercial agreement itself, which are the price and the terms of financing, which is another topic at the meeting of the ministers of transport of BiH and Turkey.

As defined by the agreement signed in Ankara, Turkey has obliged to secure the financial funds for the realization of this infrastructure project.

The representatives of Tasyapi pointed out that they were ready to start the realization, designing and construction of the highway from Raca to Bijeljina immediately upon the signing of the commercial agreement.

As minister Mitrovic pointed out, Milorad Dodik, a member of the Presidency of BiH, is expected to agree the crediting of this project with president Erdogan so that the construction could start as soon as possible.
