It is pointed out that, although Inobacka has on several occasions, together with the investor, Durst Development, had publicly emphasized and warned on time that in that specific case, “these two companies are a collateral, whereas political games played by individuals are in the background, which neither the tenants nor the City of Belgrade were willing to hear”.
– To this day, no agreement has been reached between the city and the investor, because the city has not responded to the investor’s memo seeking to come to an agreement. This means that both the investor and our company, as the contractor, have suffered damages measuring several millions, for which someone has to be responsible. The moment we receive, in a written form, a concrete proposal from the city regarding the repair of the damage and new location requirements, we will know that the city is truly ready to reach an agreement, and, of course, that very moment, we will withdraw the proposal for damages compensation, which we have filed to the Third Basic Prosecutor’s Office – the press release says.
It is also emphasized that, since the works agreed with the investor Durst Development have not been fully carried out, the investor has the full right to accuse Inobacka for not meeting the obligations defined under the agreement.
– As the machines of Inobacka were blocked at the construction site on a private parcel owned by the investor for weeks, because citizens physically blocked the entrance and the exit for the machines, preventing them from operating, about which they talked publicly, whereby the media reported their intentions and the realization of their intentions (as shown by video materials), we have enough evidence that a group of citizens illegally prevented our company to exercise its constitutional right to work – the press release says.
Inobacka says that there are institutions in Serbia, which, “being provided with all the accumulated documentation, will determine who is responsible for the damage and the failed project, for which we had absolutely everything, the permits, defined by the law and obtained in line with it, as well as the accompanying documentation”.
In July, tenants of Block 37 protested the continued construction of a skyscraper which was being raised in front of their windows, in an already built block, despite the city’s agreement with the investor to stop the works before a definite solution is found.
The deputy mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic, stated at the time that the citizens were right and told the Austrian company Durst Development that there was an offer for the city to compensate them for the investments.
