Backa Palanka Looking for Partner for Production and Distribution of Heating Energy and Reconstruction of Central Heating System – Job Worth EUR 10 Million

The Municipality of Backa Palanka has opened the public invitation for the selection of a private partner for the production and distribution of heating energy, along with the reconstruction of the central heating system in the municipality.

In mid-August, the members of the Municipal Assembly of Backa Palanka approved the reaching of the decision on the adoption of the project of the public-private partnership and the opening of the tender for that job, worth nearly RSD 1.2 billion (around EUR 10 million).

The initiative was made due to the lack of the legal framework for the company DP Novi Sad – Gas to continue managing the system of central heating, so the obligation was taken on by the Municipality of Backa Palanka.

The project also entails the reconstruction of the central heating system, which primarily pertains to the reconstruction of the largest part of the heating pipeline network and then also a partial reconstruction of natural-gas boilers and the installation of other equipment necessary for an unobstructed functioning of the heating plant and the reconstruction of the heating substations.

At the session, it was said that the project would contribute to the reduction of the emission of harmful matters by 110 tons annually.

The tender for a private partner is open until October 12.
